Eleanor Eyre Hunt was born in 1844 to William (1797-1867) and Mary (McCord) Hunt, the sixth of eleven siblings. According to U.S. census data, William Hunt was a farmer, who owned a home and land in Moorefield (near Springfield), until his death in 1867, when his eldest son, William, became head of household.
